Abe Oudshoorn

"Working with people experiencing homelessness, I hear many stories of how our current systems can serve to further marginalize people. The solution to addressing the systems will not come from well-heeled decision makers, but from the people themselves who have suffered in these systems."

Abe Oudshoorn is assistant professor and Year 4 coordinator at the Arthur Labatt Family School of Nursing at Western University, and associate scientist with Lawson Health Research Institute. Having worked as a nurse with people experiencing homelessness, Abe focuses his research on health, homelessness, housing policy and exit strategies from poverty.

Outside of campus, Abe is the vice-chair of the London Homeless Coalition and founder of the London Homelessness Outreach Network.
