Marc Molgat, Ph.D., is a professor at the University of Ottawa, where he is also the director of the School of Social Work. His research focuses on transitions to adulthood from the perspective of life course theory. He has studied housing trajectories, relations between young people and their parents, the socio-economic integration patterns of high school dropouts, and youth migration. He has a strong interest in youth policies and how they reflect the socio-economic integration problems facing disadvantaged youth.
Marc has edited the following books: Vivre la citoyenneté [Experiencing citizenship] (2000), La migration des jeunes [Youth migration] (2004), Habiter seul. Un nouveau mode de vie [Living alone: a new way of life] (2009) and Youth policy in a changing world (forthcoming in 2012). He is currently directing a SSHRC-funded study on the life course and forms of support of young people enrolled in technical/vocational education in the provinces of Ontario and Quebec, Canada (2011-2015).
